The housewife’s dream - The Bosch electric kitchen appliance
In the 1950s, strenuous and perspiration-pushing activities were all part of the repertoire of every housewife. Mixing, kneading, chopping, slicing, passing vegetables through a sieve, making purées, grinding, grating... all for the physical welfare of the "darling" family. No wonder, then, that Mum was sometimes not always exactly in high spirits! At any rate, it was the long-suffering housewife who inspired Bosch engineers to develop, in 1952, a piece of equipment that enormously eased the burden of household chores: the Bosch "New Age" electric kitchen appliance. It effortlessly performed all the drudgery involved in food preparation, and the energy it required came exclusively from the wall socket.
Interestingly enough, the advertising for our electric kitchen appliance revealed a new target group: men. Publicity brochures repeatedly pointed out how simple it was to operate the Bosch electric kitchen appliance, so that husband and children could relieve "Mum" in the kitchen from time to time.

Generations of kitchen appliances

Since those early years, the kitchen appliance has undergone many changes, even though the basic idea always remained the same. Maximum efficiency is still the prime consideration. In the 1970s, this kitchen aid was, was given a "Multi-function arm". This new design feature concentrated all the functions of the electric kitchen appliance in one operating position.

In the late 1990s, the development of Bosch household appliances landed another big coup. With the presentation of the model MUM 7 CONCEPT, Bosch announced "a new era of electric kitchen appliances". Super flat and compact, with modern design features, simplicity itself to operate and with the enormous power rating of 700 Watts. It can process up to five kilos of dough with no difficulty at all. Safety is also one of the key considerations with this appliance. With an automatic switch-off function and a locking device to prevent the appliance from being switched on again in cases of possible overload, it provides maximum safety convenience.
