The research campus
Facts and figures
In Renningen, Bosch has created the perfect conditions for connecting people and know-how. More than 300 million euros have been invested in the new campus. The focus is on applied research. In Renningen, ideas are always developed with an eye to a specific product and the customer.
The campus offers project spaces for working together with colleagues from a wide range of different fields. In addition, workspaces are available for various work phases between concentration and communication, as well as the specially equipped “Platform 12” innovation zone.
However, research at Bosch does not end in Renningen. Instead, the campus serves as a hub that connects the research locations worldwide with the different divisions. In 2014, Bosch spent some five billion euros on research and development. Nearly 45,000 associates work in this field in 25 countries, 1,700 of them in Renningen. Research and development employs some 15,000 software specialists. Bosch plans to hire around 12,000 university graduates in 2015. Nearly three-fourths of them will be engineers and software specialists.
