Art for children
The Instituto Robert Bosch in Brazil opens up new perspectives
Expressing emotions and experiencing art through play are just what children and young people get to do in the Fazendo Arte (creating art) project hosted by the Instituto Robert Bosch in Curitiba, Brazil. The program offers workshops in art, music, and theater that give children the chance to unleash their creative talent. Last year, for example, they put on plays, made tablecloths, and created pottery in family groups. They went on to present their works of art in exhibitions.
Fazendo Arte is one of many projects supported by the Instituto Robert Bosch. The program assists socially and financially disadvantaged children and young people in a poverty-stricken district of the city in paving the path to a better future. Their artistic efforts teach them at an early age how to be creative and to find their way in groups of mixed socio-cultural, ethical, and cognitive composition. At the same time, these opportunities make a contribution to local cultural life.
