The Bosch Research and Technology Center in Bangalore, India, is part of the international Bosch Research community dedicated to using technological innovations to solve the problems of tomorrow. Here, the associates investigate various challenges on the path toward a connected, smart, and energy-efficient tomorrow. We focus our research along three main themes: advanced data analytics for IoT applications, computer vision and numerical methods, and algorithms for real-time embedded systems. Our research solutions and prototypes not only cater to the wider global Bosch business but also focus on solving regional challenges pertaining to India. The Research and Technology Center in Pittsburgh focuses on investigating new and existing Internet technologies and deploying them among the Bosch group’s business units. The research focuses on software, deployment and integration of existing technologies in new application areas of relevance to various business areas of the Bosch group, as well as the design, evaluation, and deployment of new security technologies and solutions supporting the Internet of Things vision.

Our Bosch Research Campus in Renningen, Germany, is the international hub of Bosch Research, Cross-Domain Computing Solutions, and the Bosch Center for Artificial Intelligence. As a hub for rapid prototyping and test-bedding, Singapore offers ideal conditions for transforming ideas into market-ready solutions. Collaborating closely with local business units and Bosch Business Innovations, the team brings cutting-edge technologies to both regional and global markets.

The vision of our location in Singapore is to establish a Centre of Excellence in urban solutions and sustainability, with core research in sustainable heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, automated end-of-life management, and digital living solutions. The team’s key strengths lie in intelligent sensor systems, AIoT technologies, modeling, simulation, control strategy and business model innovations. Supported by a dedicated lab space, our dynamic team fosters a culture of openness and creativity to drive meaningful innovations.

More space and more attractive working conditions for innovative research, development, trend scouting, and venture capital: in 2018, Bosch has moved to a larger location in Silicon Valley, opening a new Research and Technology Center in Sunnyvale. The facilities bring together 200 associates under one roof for the first time. Covering almost 10,000 square meters, the new location offers 40 percent more space in total and room for up to 300 associates. “From basic research to market-ready solutions, as part of Bosch’s international research network, our associates in Silicon Valley have laid the foundation for innovative products and solutions in areas such as sensor technology and automated and connected vehicle systems,” said Hauke Schmidt, head of the Bosch Research and Technology Center.

The research and technology office in Israel was established in 2016. In Tel Aviv, Bosch employees focus on collaborating with scientific institutions and start-ups in fields such as machine learning, cybersecurity, and IoT.

The Bosch Research team in Wuxi, China, is based near Bosch Powertrain Systems Co., Ltd. in Wuxi, China — an important location for Bosch’s advanced powertrain technologies. This strategic positioning enables seamless collaboration with local business units and manufacturing plants, particularly in the development and industrialization of fuel cell systems and key components for mobility applications.

By working closely with engineering and production teams on-site, the Wuxi team accelerates the translation of research into scalable solutions, ensuring alignment with both technical and market requirements. The Wuxi-based research activities support the global fuel cell strategy of Bosch, fostering innovation through hands-on experience, rapid prototyping, and continuous feedback from real-world production environments.
